How XITAD determines indicative residual value

How the estimate is calculated

For a model we combine two data sources: current market listings of comparable used hardware and aggregated observations from our quickscans. From these we derive an indicative range per unit. Amounts are rounded and presented as a guide value, never as an exact price.

What market listings are

Market listings are the current asking prices of comparable devices on the international reuse market, as offered at that moment. They are therefore offered prices, not sold or settled amounts. We filter out accessories, parts, defective and incomplete devices and new/sealed items, and remove outliers before deriving a range.

How hardware observations are used

Each quickscan produces anonymized, aggregated observations at model level. We combine these across multiple scans so that a range does not rest on a single observation. One scan with many units counts as one observation. We never store customer data, files or individual inventories in these figures.

Limitations

• These are asking prices, not sold prices; the actual return may differ.
• The sample per model can be limited and varies over time.
• For some models there is insufficient market data; we then show an estimate based on category and age, or no amount at all.
• Amounts are rounded and intended as a guide value, not a precise valuation.

The residual value shown is a guide amount. The actual return depends on quantity, technical condition, configuration and the market moment. A concrete valuation of your own lot follows from a quickscan and the subsequent process, not from this page.
