The platform in detail

One infrastructure for enterprise IT Asset Disposition

The XITAD platform brings the complete offboarding of enterprise IT into one environment: from the first valuation of your hardware to the payout in your account, with certified data destruction and a watertight audit trail in between. Where IT Asset Disposition traditionally runs through separate buyers, processors and carriers, XITAD replaces that fragmentation with one controlled process and real-time insight.

For organizations that retire hardware structurally, that means predictable residual value, demonstrable compliance per device and ESG accountability that comes straight out of the system. You stay in control in the Control Room; the platform does the work.

The valuation engine

At the core of the platform is an automated valuation engine. Upload an inventory list, an export from your ITAM system or a photo of the type labels, and the engine recognizes and normalizes the hardware automatically. It then checks every model against live European market data and calculates a substantiated residual-value range per asset. Unknown or defective equipment is routed separately, so you never get false certainty.

Insight per asset

You get a specification rather than a rough estimate: per asset category the quantities, the expected proceeds from low to high, the market demand and the method used. On top of that, the engine calculates CO₂ savings per device and classifies the data risk per storage medium. The full report is downloadable and forms the basis for your internal business case.

From scan to project

Once you approve a valuation, a project is created that you follow through a fixed console: specifications, the deal room with incoming bids, escrow, logistics, data destruction and closing. Every step has its own status, so you and your team always know where a lot is in the process.

Competitive bidding

An approved project is presented to a worldwide network of buyers. They submit binding bids, per line or on the whole lot, and can ask questions about the inventory through the deal room. You compare the bids side by side and pick the winner with one click. Because more buyers bid against each other, you usually achieve higher proceeds, closer to the true market value.

Escrow and payout

As soon as you accept a bid, the amount is held in XITAD escrow before the hardware leaves your premises. Your payout is only released after data destruction is confirmed and the reports are in. This means no credit risk, and the financial settlement is decoupled from the physical handover. Invoices and the net payout are laid out clearly in your dashboard.

Data destruction and compliance

Data destruction is carried out separately from the sale, to NIST 800-88, on your own site, via secured transport or at a secured processing facility. For each storage medium a wipe certificate (such as Blancco) and an audit report are recorded in your archive. XITAD is the orchestration layer that brings intake, valuation, matchmaking, escrow and the certificates together in one certified process. The result is a demonstrable chain of custody from your premises to final destruction.

ESG and CSRD reporting

Every completed lot produces measurable sustainability data: reused and recycled units, e-waste avoided and CO₂ saved. Those figures are bundled into a report you can use directly for your CSRD accountability and ESG targets. Reuse comes before recycling, and that shows in the report.

Access, security and intake

The platform uses role-based access, two-factor authentication and KYC verification, so the right people see the right data. You provide inventory via Excel, CSV, PDF or photo, or you process an export from systems like ServiceNow, SAP or Snipe-IT. On every upload, metadata such as EXIF, GPS and document properties is stripped automatically, so you never leak customer data.

Frequently asked questions
about the platform

What is an IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) platform?

IT Asset Disposition is the controlled offboarding of retired IT hardware, with data destruction, reuse or recycling and the recovery of residual value. The XITAD platform brings that entire process together in one environment, from valuation to payout and certification.

How does the platform determine the residual value of my hardware?

The valuation engine normalizes your inventory and checks every model against live European market data. From that it calculates a substantiated residual-value range per asset. Equipment without a reliable market reference is assessed separately rather than estimated.

How do I know my data has been irreversibly destroyed?

Data destruction follows NIST 800-88 and is carried out by certified processors, with a wipe certificate per storage medium and an audit report in your archive. The payout is only released after those reports are received, so the proof is part of the process.

Which files can I submit for a valuation?

You can submit an Excel or CSV list, a PDF or a photo of the hardware, or enter the data manually. Exports from ITAM and ERP systems such as ServiceNow, SAP or Snipe-IT are processed directly.

What does the platform deliver for my ESG and CSRD reporting?

Every completed lot produces measurable figures on reuse, recycling, e-waste avoided and CO₂ saved. The platform bundles that data into a report you can use for your CSRD obligations and sustainability goals.
